The woman in this Reddit story works at the same university as her husband, but they both work in different departments. She adds that the university is very large, but he applied for a promotion that would make him a few steps above her current boss. The university initially promised that this wouldn't be a conflict of interest (the fact that they're husband and wife). However, after he received the promotion offer, was told that the couple would have to choose who remains in the department.
